2008 Bead Jewelry Calendars
Happy New Year! To welcome in 2008 I thought I’d look for a bead-jewelry themed calendar!

The 2008 Bead-A-Day Calendar from Amazon.com!
I didn’t get a calendar for Christmas this year, so I decided to see if I could find a calendar for my “craft room” that had something to do with beading or bead jewelry. I didn’t find anything at my local bookstore, but I did find a few calendars online. These could work as gifts for other beaders or simple a little present to yourself for surviving the holidays!
2008 Beading Bead-A-Day Calendar – This is a pretty neat idea for a daily calendar: each day has a little page about beading or jewelry making, including wirework, polymer clay, and specific projects that range from basic bracelets to more advanced projects. Some of the ideas are apparently a little off-the-wall, but with 365 different ideas there are bound to be a few winners and a few losers.
Beading 2008 Calendar – Produced and tested by the editors of BeadStyle Magazine, this is a more traditional monthly calendar, but it includes step-by-step instructions each month for a project which uses the birthstone of that month! The projects are probably for a more intermediate skill level, but they all look amazing! Some of the projects included are a Ruby Necklace and Earrings, a Turquoise with Raku pendant, and an Amethyst and sterling silver jewelry set.
The Art and Design of Metal Clay Jewelry Calendar 2008 – For the jewelry maker that’s expanded beyond stringing beads to using Metal Clay this monthly calendar gives you beautiful photos of unique and innovative jewelry projects using a variety of techniques and materials. This calendar is specifically designed for the serious jewelry maker because it also includes on the calendar dates of jewelry conferences and contest deadlines for 2008! This calendar is produced by Holly Gage.
Kai Creations 2008 Handcrafted Jewelry Calendar – If you’re a fan of beautiful handcrafted jewelry and need a 2008 calendar but you’re not interested in actually completing some projects yourself, you might want to consider this beautiful monthly calendar by Kai Creations. It features 12 beautiful photos of beading and jewelry projects, it only costs $10, and portion of the money goes to a local charity! I think this is a French production, so the months are listed in French and English. Either way, some of these look like true works of art!
Plays With Fire 2008 Wall Calendar – For the lampwork bead lover, this monthly calendar of Patty Lakinsmith’s beads and jewelry serves as inspiration and art all in one. Some months feature beautiful photos of full projects she’s completed and some months feature close ups of some of the amazingly colorful and unique beads she’s made.
Oh if you want to save a few dollars to use towards buying more beads, you can do what I do: I almost never buy calendars for myself under after the new year has begun because they’re almost always on sale!
