Andzia’s Amber Jewelry and Beads
A lot of bead jewelers tend to stick with “traditional” bead types, including glass, crystal and silver beads. But bead artists can also work with precious and semi-precious materials, and Andzia’s Amber Bead Jewelry shows what kind of amazing jewelry bead artists can make with beads of amber.
I admit that I’ve often limited myself to the “normal” sort of beads and have thus far stayed away from some of the more creative gemstones and materials. Heck, my local beadstore doesn’t even have more than one or two beads made of amber.
But at Andzia’s Amber you can see all sorts of great amber possibilities, including earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more. I find these pieces to be particularly intriguing because of the inviting use of the different colors of amber as well as the traditional sort of bead jewelry techniques. A lot of their artwork (and all jewelry is artwork in my opinion) is simply put together with straightforward wire work and traditional beading skills. Andzia’s mastery of simply techniques is what stands out!
And don’t be afraid to check out the whole site. There’s a lot of great information there, including an amber jewelry blog, links to the history and myths surrounding amber and of course plenty of amber and jewelry resources!
