Bead Jewelry Blog is Four Years Old!

Yay! Bead Jewelry Blog turns four years old this month!

I started working on this blog around September of 2005 and it’s still It’s hard to believe I’ve been writing and blogging about making bead jewelry for this long and I’ve actually be creating my own jewelry for even longer! I starting writing this blog just on a whim to let people know about some of the cool beading and jewelry sites I was finding, but I soon found that I enjoyed it almost as much as I like making jewelry.

Writing is definitely an art form just like any other and I’ve learned that the more you do it the better you get at it.

Lately I’ve been busy with a lot of other things in addition to making and selling my own bead jewelry. I still have a full-time job and a full-time family, but late last year I really started getting into digital photography. Over the summer I was even able to get some real world photography experience by doing some professional photo shoots for friends! And just like with my bead jewelry, I found that writing about my hobby really helps me enjoy it even more, so of course started my own digital photography blog as well! I might eventually move it to a more permanent location, but I’m still playing around with it at this point.

I think I enjoy the same things about digital photography that I do with making jewelry: both art forms have a lot of technical aspects, but once you master those skills then the sky’s the limit as to what you can actually do with them!

So Happy 4th Birthday and thank you to everyone for all your kind words and help and friendship over the years! By the way, if any of you want to promote your own jewelry sites or help others make jewelry by writing how-to instructions or anything else, please let me know! I would love to have some guest writers from time to time!
