Bead Jewelry Idea: Selling Gemstone Jewelry by State
I don’t travel all over the U.S. selling bead jewelry at craft shows (at least, not yet!), but I have done a few shows out of my home state and I’ve sometimes found that different things sell better at different shows and geographical locations.
This made me think a little bit about how I market some of my gemstone jewelry and whether or not there would be an interest in trying to sell different things in different states. I’ve written about this blog before, but right now the blog at HouseOfGems.com is concluding a short series on gemstones from different parts of America.

For example, a lot of jasper and agate come from Texas, so if I were to do a craft show in Texas, I might want to put together some jasper pieces, write up a little card about how jasper is found in Texas and then sell “Texas Bracelets” or “Texas Necklaces.” Likewise, if I were doing a show in Montana I might want to sell more pieces that include the beautiful blues and greens of moss agate.
When people browse craft shows they want to find something different that relates to them and isn’t found in thousands of retail malls.
What could be better than making a piece of jewelry that relates to where they live?
