HouseofGems.com – A Gemstone Beading Blog

Jewelry Beads, Jewelry Making, Jewelry and Beading Fun - December 12, 2005 - By: Laura Kay

I ran across House of Gemstone’s Jewelry Blog a little while ago and I keep checking back because it’s always a fun read and I almost learn something about gemstones that I didn’t know before. Not only do they regularly introduce new gemstone beads for sale, but they also find neat beading sites and write about some fascinating gemstone facts and trivia!

I haven’t ventured into too many new and different gemstones yet, but I get excited whenever I read about all the new possibilities. This week they just wrote about a new gemstone bead they’ve started selling called “Hypersthene” which appears to be black with some copper or metallic tone to them. I think I’ll be ordering some of those coin-shaped beads after the holidays!

I also “Googled” Hypersthene and found out much more technical information than I needed to know! Instead of reading through all sorts of scientific pages I clicked on “images” and Google found a bunch of pictures of Hypersthene so I could get a better idea of what it’s really like. Here’s a Google images link if you’re interested in finding out more.
