iBead Unveils New Bead Jewelry Website with a Bold Color Scheme

Black is Beautiful at the newly designed iBead.com.

In the past I’ve reviewed different online bead stores, but I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned iBead.com before. I have bought from them in the past but there was nothing extraordinary about the experience. Their new website looks very promising, though!

The moment you visit iBead.com you realize something is “different” but you might not be able to identify it right away. It’s the COLOR of the pages! Instead of being like 99% of all the bead jewelry online stores out there, iBead has taken a radical change and gone with a dark black and charcoal colors page scheme instead of the standard white.

I was thrilled about the difference at first, but after surfing around it for a while I have to wonder if it is really a good idea. Most of the bead photos are still against a white background, so you can still get a sense of the brightness in the bead colors. Colors really have a strong effect on how people shop and live, so I’m not sure about the wisdom of this decision.

iBead has also made changes in navigation on the website and they proudly tell us how they made some of these decisions:

When our customers talk, we listen. They told us how we could improve our Web site, and we made it happen. We still offer low prices and hassle-free bead shopping, but now iBead.com is even more user-friendly,” says Joe DiPaula, owner of iBead.com. “We’re committed to the needs of our customers – from businesses owners to hobbyists who are create their own jewelry or artwork.”

New navigation features include: an area for bead jewelry news and trend headlines, new category delineations for beginner and expert bead jewelers alike and a spotlight and promotions area on the front page to show hot items.

Overall the site looks much more professional than it did in the past and I was able to find what I was looking for rather quickly through a number of different category links. I’m just not sure if the black background is going to bring me down or not. The next time I need beads from an online store I’ll give them a shot and see if the buying experience has improved and if the dark colors are a deterrent or not.

I love these guys , they are caring, and take care of most of my beading needs.

I have been to the new store. The yellow color on the outside of the store reminds me of the auto parts store next store. I think they try, but there is little knowledge for the artistic beader. Much of the stock reminds me of left overs from Michaels. They do have a good deal on Swarovski crystals. I don’t shop there very often. Prices keep going higher and higher and you have to spend a certain amount to get a special.
