Thanks for the advice. In order to sell in bulk you need to be able to make in bulk. I have a found a great source offshore in India who can reproduce my designs in bulk and I can focus on the designing, selling and business development. They also give me product pictures and content for the website. I will be happy to share if anyone interested.

Excellent point! Though I have to admit that I have bought pieces from other artists simply because I don’t have the time, patience or skill to make some pieces myself… For instance, I love wire work, but I’m simply no good at it myself :-p

I’ve generally stayed away from trying to sell too much bead jewelry online. I found that maintaining a store and inventory and links and all the other things when I was also doing craft shows and trying to sell pieces in stores was just too much of a headache. I write this blog basically as a fan of bead jewelry, but not to necessarily sell my pieces. Though I write about making bead jewelry I seem to have quite a lot of people who ARE looking to buy jewelry pieces as well as make it…

A thought about blogging is to remember that with your blog you don’t have to stay within the beading or jewelry area, like you do with links to your website. Lets face it we love to look at each others creations but we aren’t going to shop from another jewelry site. So in order get different traffic to our sites we need to move in other circles. Thanks for the great advice. I think the most important thing you said was “be patient.” So many people expect to sell tons of their jewelry right away. It just doesn’t work like that. It’s like being a farmer. You have to be patient and cultivate the land.
