Some Bead Jewelry Blog Updates

Jewelry and Beading News - January 7, 2009 - By: Laura Kay

Here are some quick updates and news items from some of the bead jewelry artists and bloggers I’ve featured on BeadJewelryBlog.com! I can’t possibly give updates on all the bloggers and beaders I’ve written about, but you can check out all the bead jewelry blogs I’ve featured (and follow those links to even more bead jewelry blogs!) by checking out all my Beading Blog posts!

Bead Jewelry Blogger UpdatesCanadian Bead Artist and Blogger Extraordinaire “The Beading Gem” (her real name is Pearl!) recently celebrated her 790th beading and jewelry post over at The Beading Gem’s Journal! What’s even more incredible is that she’s written all those informative and fascinating posts in just two short years! Besides blogging, The Beading Gem also hosts jewelry making parties, teaches others how to make bead jewelry and has some great information on tons of different gemstones! I have to admit that I have a hard time keeping up all the great stories, posts, great jewelry finds and interesting facts Pearl comes up with on a regular basis!

Businesswoman and bead jewelry blogger Kcrystina wrote in to say that she’s changed her website and blog sites around a bit, and they both look great! She now has the main Kcrystina website dedicated to beaded jewelry and knotwork, gemstones and natural elements. She still has a fun and informative beading and knotting blog, too!

The Maine-based bead jewelry supply store and site called The Beadin’ Path has greatly expanded since I first wrote about them over two years ago. They now have a much bigger inventory and they’ve expanded their website in a number of ways, but they now have regular bead jewelry blog posts and articles at their Beading Info & Articles page.

Juliet Renee Williams over at JulRe designs (love the name!) is a one-woman powerhouse when it comes to making wearable art and jewelry. She had a blog when I first wrote about her but now she’s really expanded it and embraced blogging with gusto! She writes about everything from bead jewelry to dogs to technology to books to fashion and then more about bead jewelry in her JulRe Designs Style Baubles blog! Her jewelry is incredible and her blog is fun! Check her out!

I have to admit that I can’t always keep up with all the great blogs out there. I make my own bead jewelry (obviously), have a full-time job (darn it!) and a wonderful husband and toddler son (sometimes I can’t tell which is which…LOL!) to keep me plenty busy. I find that reading what others are doing with their bead jewelry creations often gives me inspiration to try new things and make new jewelry or use different beads that I wouldn’t have normally used.

If you have a spare moment check out all these great bloggers and their wonderful bead jewelry!

You’re welcome, the pleasure is all mine! Thanks for the twitter! I read a few, but I haven’t gotten my “stuff” together enough to try twittering myself :-)

I am a new-be to this and am interested in making jewelry. I have started with a few ideas and samples and my goal is to eventually want to make bracelets supporting austim and bresat cancer and donate profits to organizations. I am a supporter for these organizations and would appreciate your help. Open for suggestions Thanks to all. God Bless
