You Should Be Reading This New Bead Jewelry Blog: The Making of Kcrystina Jewelry Designer

The Making of Kcrystina Jewelry Designer is a great and relatively new bead jewelry blog that you should definitely be reading no matter how experienced you are with creating bead jewelry of your own. Tina Stephen was always drawn to gemstones but only recently discovered bead jewelry, and her blog follows her as she embarks on her “journey” through beading and jewelry making! Tina begins her blog with a simple explanation of her past and how she suddenly found herself thinking about making jewelry in her post entitled, appropriately enough, The Beginning.

They say that artists often start with one medium and move into another, and that is definitely the case with Tina as well! Tina is a busy and artistic woman who runs TinaStephen Intnernation, a professional Web Design Company that has developed some snazzy graphic design work and has even started a Web Design Education System to help people build and design web pages! If you get a chance to see her work or need a small business website of your own, definitely look over her amazing portfolio.

Back to her beading blog! The Making of Kcrystina Jewelry Designer is a fun bead jewelry blog that makes me feel as though I’m peeking into the private notebook of a great jewelry designer. After reading several entries you can’t help but notice an intimacy in her postings that goes beyond a simple step-by-step description of her jewelry. Instead you’ll find the how and why and “why not” of each jewelry piece.

I love the way she regularly writes about her experiments with different materials, different techniques and all sorts of discoveries in beading and jewelry making. If you’ve ever found yourself feeling burned out with making bead jewelry (I often get that way before a big craft show) then you should definitely read The Making of Kcrystina because the excitement and energy of first learning how to create jewelry with beads almost jumps off the page. It’s a fun blog to read because Tina is amazing and free in her writing, regularly writing about where she gets her ideas for bead jewelry pieces.

And, yes, she even has some very good bead jewelry tutorials (I hope she writes more!) and what I like the most is that she’s honest and actually lists out her discoveries about how to attach beads and wires in certain ways, what tools to use, and what works and doesn’t work for her.

She also has a ton of great online bead jewelry making resources, many of which I’ve never seen before! She has a small photo gallery of her work and many of her pieces are beautifully staged for display. You can contact her via her blog if you’re interested in buying any of her bead jewelry pieces.

    Bonjour!

    What a wonderful article. BRAVO!

I happen to know Tina pretty darn well,
and you’ve totally captured the essence
of who she is. Her passion for stones has
finally lead her to where she was meant
    to be…yippee!

Thanks for introducing her to other
    passionate beading artists…and for
infusing passion in those who maybe
weren’t sure about what they thought
    was “just a hobby.” :-)

    Big hugs always,
    Mudd a.k.a. Oza
    xoxo

My weblog link is now at http://www.kcrystina.com/weblog, and my handmade jewelry store that features my mixed media knotwork is at http://www.kcrystina.com

Again, thank you for what you wrote.
